Jenny Beverly
Managing Attorney
Jenny Beverly is an attorney with over a decade of experience in immigration law. From April 2024 to July 2025, she served as an Immigration Judge, an experience that gave her rare insight into how cases are adjudicated within the U.S. immigration system. She chose to step down from that role out of commitment to her values and to continue directly serving those most impacted by our country’s immigration policies. She is admitted to practice in Maine and in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maine, and is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).
Coming from a family of refugees, Jenny understands the stress and uncertainty new immigrants face. Her practice is dedicated to providing clear, compassionate guidance to help clients navigate the many obstacles of the immigration process.
Jenny earned her J.D. from the University of Maine School of Law and her B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
Paula Esteves
Attorney
Paula is a native and citizen of Brazil. Paula obtained her J.D. and Certificate in Social Justice and Public Interest Law from the University of Maine School of Law, where she served in the Student Board Association and was awarded the Maine Association of Public Interest Law Fellowship and the CLEA Externship Award in her class. Since moving to Maine, Paula has worked in both the non-profit and private practices of immigration law, most recently developing the limited assistance asylum program at the Immigrant Legal Advocacy Project (ILAP).
Paula also has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and African Studies from the University of Pittsburgh, and a master’s degree in International Affairs from Durham University.
Paula is admitted to practice in the state of Maine and is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). She is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish.
Amelia Ritenour
Attorney
Amelia grew up in Central Florida, with pet ducks and bee hives in their backyard. They started volunteering with a diversionary program for juveniles charged with minor crimes in high school, setting them on the path to be an attorney from an early age.
In undergraduate, Amelia studied pre-law and psychology, writing their senior thesis on survivors of sexual violence and the law. They then moved to New England for law school. During their second year of law school, they randomly took an immigration law class and fell in love with the subject. From then on, Amelia knew that immigration law was where they belonged.
Amelia is admitted to practice in the state of Massachusetts, District of Massachusetts, and First Circuit Court of Appeals.
Nolwenn
Paralegal
Coming from the non-profit sector, Nolwenn is a paralegal with 5 years of experience in immigration law. For the last three years, they have been working as a DOJ Accredited Representative for the Immigrant Legal Advocacy Project (ILAP), assisting applicants with matters in front of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and the Immigration Courts.
Nolwenn first moved to Maine to attend Bates College where she obtained her B.A. focusing on Mandarin Chinese and French & Francophone Studies. They are a native French speaker and bilingual in French and English. They have intermediate proficiency in Mandarin.
Savannah
Legal Assistant
Savannah is a recent graduate of College of the Atlantic where she received her B.A focusing on U.S. asylum law. In the fall of 2024, she conducted her senior project volunteering at Immigrant Legal Advocacy Project and Catholic Charities Maine’s Immigration Legal Services division where she learned these systems in practice. She focused her thesis on global comparative immigration law and areas for potential reform in U.S. immigration systems.
Throughout college, her studies in the Arabic language led her to live and work among refugees in various parts of the world; these experiences sparked a desire to advance justice for underserved groups through the immigration system.
Savannah is conversationally fluent in Spanish and has elementary proficiency in Levantine Arabic.
